Frequently Asked Questions about Counseling with Nazreth MinistriesWhy do Christian people seek Counseling? Why should Christian clergy leaders/professionals seek Counseling? Christian people seek help for different reasons. Sometimes people get stuck in their spiritual journey and need to speak to someone to gain greater insight, receive encouragement, or guidance regarding personal issues or concerns. Many times people use counseling as a time of self-examination and as a way to experience personal and spiritual growth in specific areas of their lives. The counselor's office can provide a place of sanctuary, particularly at Nekadesh Farm's private facilities, where one’s thoughts and feelings are listened to and heard in a non-judgmental, caring, and unbiased atmosphere. Counseling can provide support and can help one to develop the practical and spiritual coping skills one might need in order to manage and process through issues such as discouragement, worry, lack of confidence, BURNOUT, FATIGUE, relationship troubles, unresolved childhood issues, sadness/grief, spiritual conflicts, stress management, and self-image issues.
What can I expect with counseling at Nazareth Ministries?
The first session is a time of getting to know one another and a time of assessment. The first session is also the time to discover what is going on and what the client wants to happen. The other sessions, depending on what the client's concerns are, will explore deeper issues and talk about strategies, and actions needed to achieve the client's goals.
Sessions last for 90 minutes, though longer sessions may be necessary depending on the issues and concerns. Generally, clients can set up day retreat counseling sessions, weekend retreat counseling sessions, or regular counseling sessions Regular counseling sessions are rovided on a week by week basis for a length of time decided by the client and counselor.
How long will I have to see you?
Retreats counseling is a short term, intensive process. You have to be willing to explore and to address the causes for what is making you unhappy and be willing to implement new replacement thoughts or behaviors. Some find that they are feeling better after the one Day Retreat or Weekend Retreat while others find they require more sessions to treat more complex difficulties. We will work together to determine how often and how long we need to see one another as we work toward your goals. It is also important to determine if the client or counselor are a good fit for working with one another or if a referral to a more appropriate counselor is needed.
Do you accept insurance?
We don’t currently participate with insurance companies. We are a non-profit organization and your payment donations are tax deductible.
