Pensacola's Pearls of Wisdom for 2010Wisdom for 2010The truth remains the truth whether one believes it or not.
The reason most of us fail at living the Christian lifestyle is that we try to achieve it through human effort. The flesh will “never” turn a spiritual profit. The life we now have in Christ is bigger than we can sustain alone. Trust God, it is the narrow, but fail-safe road to a victorious life.
When something difficult comes our way, most of us start down a negative mental path.. thinking about all the worst things connected with the problem. But God wants us to do it differently. He said says, “Whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is excellent or praiseworthy…think about such things.” Philippians 4:8. Whatever, in this scripture, represents the Word of God. And the Living God promises Great Peace for those whose mind is stayed on Him. So… whatcha ya thinking about?
Knowledge is not to be mistaken for experience or genuine application of God’s Word. There are people in this life who can impress the best of us with their gift of prophecy and the way they can understand some of the great mysteries of life. They have more knowledge than the above average person and have faith that can move mountains, but they don’t have love…which means they don’t have anything at all. 1 Corinthians 13:2 Why? Because God is love. Whoever does not love does NOT know God. So what is the point of knowing anything if you don’t know the ONE who is everything?
When we go through difficult times in life, we must realize that the Lord is our Light and our Salvation (saving grace). This phase of your life is working for your favor. If the Lord is the Stronghold of your life, what situation or circumstance should you fear? Stand on David’s confidence in God when he said that he believed, no matter what he was going through, that he would see the Goodness of God in the Land of the Living. Psalm 27:13 You will too. Don’t give up! The Land of the Living is your address….
Job said that he treasured the words of God more than his daily bread. Do you treasure God’s word for your life more than any other nourishment? If you simply listen to God’s word and don’t do what it says, you are deceiving yourself. Only the person who genuinely looks at God’s word, that gives freedom, walks in it and does not forget what they heard or read… will be blessed for what they do. Talk is “still” cheap and action continues to speak louder than words. Without opening your mouth… what is your life saying about you today?
Provision “IS” manna from heaven. It may not look like we thought it would look, be who we thought it would be or taste like we thought it would taste. Divine substance is always unnatural for us…initially. Many complain about God’s divine direction on the situations and circumstances of their life. Why go through the wilderness to get to the promise land? We wouldn’t have done it “that” way. It makes one think that what they had prior to God’s provision was better than what they have presently. Would you rather have the single seed or the continual fruit from the buried seed? The place you are in is dark like the bowels of the earth always is and you are that buried seed. This place is temporary and your life is the one that is meant to profit many others. Keep pushing through the darkness...“They,” (God’s purpose for your life,) are waiting for you at the TOP…
