Welcome to NazarethMinistries At Nekadesh Farm Bed & Breakfast RetreatCome all ye that are weary and heavy laden!
"The apostles gathered around Jesus and reported to him all they had done and taught. Then, because so many people were coming and going that they did not even have a chance to eat, he said to them, 'Come with me by yourselves to a quiet place and get some rest.' So they went away by themselves in a boat to a solitary place." Mark 6:30-32 Welcome to Nazareth Ministries at Nekadesh Farm Bed & Breakfast Retreat of Colton's Point, Maryland. It is our Mission to offer and provide a Place of Retreat for God's Pastors, Bishops, Ministers, and Christian Leaders all over the world. According to statistics, Pastors, Bishops and Ministers are quitting the ministry by the hundreds each month because of fatigue and burnout. Often their physical needs are overlooked and neglected due to the high demand for their ministerial services. We are only human, even leaders need to get away from the pressures and stresses of ministry and every day life on occasion. "I said, 'Oh, that I had the wings of a dove! I would fly away and be at rest --- I would flee far away and stay in a desert; I would hurry to my place of shelter, far from the tempest and storm." Psalm 55: 6-8
Recently, Bishop T. D. Jakes appeared as a guest on the Larry King show. He voiced his own concerns regarding the need for pastors to have a place to go for help and counseling: Jakes commented that,“One of the things that really breaks my heart is that the church has not done more to provide a place for pastors to be restored and be renewed. It would be like being a physician and not being able to go to the hospital.” and he continued to say,“...but what we need, Larry, in this country is a way for pastors to be able to get out from under the fire and get some help. Get out of the pulpit when they need to and get restored, get counseling, get help when they need it.”
Nazareth Ministries provides an environment of rest for the body, mind and spirit. It is also a place to answer the invitation of the Savior to "Come to me, all you who are weary and heavy laden, and I will give you rest." Matthew 11:29
Pastors, Ministers and Lay Leaders often desperately need to get away to be physically and spiritually refreshed and rejuvenated.
Nazareth Ministries at Nekadesh Farm has been an answer to prayer for spiritual leaders to find rest and counseling in an environment of anonymity, free of the harsh judgment and criticism that is often found among the laity and secular community. They can enjoy quiet meditation as they fish or pray while seeking God’s direction for their lives and the furtherance of their current ministries.
Sometimes God's leaders need to “Be Still” and know that God is still God. “He makes me lie down in green pastures, he leads me beside quiet waters, he restores my soul.” Psalm 23:2 ...Jesus often withdrew to lonely places and prayed. Luke 5:16 It is God’s desire that His Pastors, Bishops and Ministers come to a restful place where He is able to speak personally to their hearts and where they are able to hear from Him without interruption.
God has placed it on the hearts of the founders of Nazareth Ministries to provide a “safe place” for Pastors and Ministers. Professional counseling is also available upon request. If you are a leader or believe your Pastor or Minister is in need of a break or sabbatical from the stresses of ministry, please contact us for details at the email address below.
